Jaime Hayon

Spanish artist and designer Jaime Hayon is known for bringing a sense of imagination, character and craftsmanship to contemporary design. Born in Madrid in 1974, he studied industrial design in Madrid and Paris before joining Fabrica, Benetton's design and communication academy in Italy, in 1997. He later directed its design department before establishing his own studio and dedicating himself fully to his independent practice in 2003.

Hayon's work moves between furniture, interiors, art, ceramics and objects, often combining traditional craftsmanship with expressive, sometimes playful forms. His collaborations have ranged from Fritz Hansen and Lladró to Baccarat and Cassina. For Trove, however, his direct connection is Arflex, where his work brings a softer and more expressive counterpoint to the brand's historic Italian collection.

Craftsmanship and imagination come together in objects that are functional, expressive and distinctly human.
